Brussels unites against JD Vance's attacks on EU digital rules

 Brussels is up in arms over US Vice President JD Vance’s attacks on the EU’s decision to fine Elon Musk’s company X €120 million for breaching transparency rules under the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA)

Vance, a frequent adversary of the EU’s tech rules, took to social media shortly before the bloc issued the penalty, arguing that “the EU should be supporting free speech, not attacking American companies over garbage.”

Musk responded to Vance’s post with his own “much appreciated.”

Greens MEP Alexandra Geese called Vance and Musk’s posts “coordinated geopolitical pressure” on the EU.  (...)
