France has doubled down on calls for the EU to impose stricter limits on social media use by under-15s, according to a letter obtained by Euractiv. The fresh call comes after the French constitutional court struck down a national proposal for such a ban.

The issue is popular with many Europeans, who perceive the platforms as being dangerous both due to the content that young people might encounter, and for the addictive algorithms that often mean users spend hours scrolling. (...)
