Old arguments risk derailing Europe’s 2030 climate efforts

 

For Europe to safeguard its climate targets and ensure its place in the global automotive sector, more ambitious CO2 standards for cars and vans are needed. Lawmakers should not be distracted by negative arguments coming from some in the industry, argues Julia Poliscanova.

Life has returned to the EU quarter in Brussels. Policy wonks and all manner of lobbyists are once again scurrying around in-person gatherings in an attempt to influence a raft of climate laws soon to be voted on by European parliamentarians.
